Bohemian Rhapsody

Dec 8 & 26, Jan 3, 7, 13 & 29 and Feb 7 A foot-stomping celebration of Queen, this film explores lead singer Freddie Mercury’s defiance of stereotypes on his journey to becoming one of the most beloved entertainers on the planet. Featuring a star turn from Rami Malek and an electrifying re-enactment of the band’s stellar Live Aid performance, this flick is not to be missed.

A Star is Born

Dec 6, 10, 15, 21 & 31, Jan 6, 10 & 18 and Feb 10 Oscar nominee Bradley Cooper’s directorial debut is nothing short of thrilling, featuring a fresh take on the tragic love story where seasoned musician Jackson Maine falls in love with struggling artist Ally (played with spunk by Lady Gaga). Featuring a score of stirring original music, this star-studded film is certainly one to watch. The Grinch

Jan 4 & 19 Based on Dr Seuss’ beloved holiday classic, this retelling features a green, cynical grump on a mission to steal Christmas, only to have his heart changed by a young girl’s generous holiday spirit. Funny, heartwarming and visually stunning, it’s a universal story about the spirit of Christmas and the indomitable power of optimism.

Boy Erased

Dec 16 & Jan 1 Actor-director Joel Edgerton’s emotive drama tells the tale of the teenaged son of a Baptist pastor who is forced into a gay-conversion program by his parents, played by Australian film greats Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe. The film’s delicate discussion of bullying and bigotry themes provide a jarring yet necessary reminder of the evils of alienation in society.
