Presented by Wesfarmers Arts and the 2018 AWESOME Festival, this is your guide to the shows you won’t want to miss, located on the Main Stage at the State Theatre Centre of Western Australia.

Ann-Droid, 4+


Oct 4 – 6

The magical show combines theatre with the world of high calbre, digital technology through the use of high-tech costumes, projected animations and 3D experiences.

Ruby’s Wish, 7+


Oct 1 – 8

Exquisite puppetry, comedy, animation, beatboxing and clowning, this theatre production will leave you wanting to create your own fantasy wonderland.

For lovers of classic music and theatre, this inspiring show follows Simon Tedeschi’s musical journey of life, from his first public performance at the Sydney Opera House at only 8 years old, to the famous Carnegie Hall in Manhattan, New York.

Four Go Wild in Wellies (Contemporary Dance)

Scotland’s inclusive professional dance company, Indepen-dance, presents a brand-new, contemporary dance show for families that revolves around built, broken and mended friendships.

McNirt Hates Dirt


Oct 1 – 6

This engaging, interactive and organic theatre show comedically follows their journey through music, original poetry and funny stories, perfect for families with children.

Audioplay: The Turners, 7+ (Interactive story-telling


Oct 2 – 7

Based on Mick Elliott’s book “The Turners,” the immersive audio experience follows the story of Leo and Abbie. Plug in headphones and jump into their world and become the characters of this action-packed adventure.

Cause and Effect, 7+ (Tinker space and machine building workshops)


Oct 1 – 7

Unleash your creativity, problem problem-solving skills and work as a team, together with Jens, to transform items like used brooms and kitchen scales, into a new part of the machine. ‘

Each day the contraption will grow, building a unique chain-reaction machine.

Valentine, 5+ (Theatre/Puppetry)

This heart-warming show combines clowning with the visually stimulating effects of shadow puppetry to explore Valentine’s story of loss and love.

Cheeky Monkeys – A Pint-Sized Theatre Project, 7+ (Theatre)


Oct 1

Directors aged 9-12 are handed the task of directing two adult actors in short plays written by year 9 students from Mt Lawley Senior High School’s Specialist Visual and Performing Arts program.
