Singer Ben Folds has been announced as the first act to take to the stage at the Chevron Festival Gardens for Perth International Arts Festival 2018.
He'll take to the stage at the Chevron Festival Gardens at Elizabeth Quay on Sunday 11 February at 8pm.
The singer-songwriter, known for his off-the-wall lyrics and energetic shows, will bring his Paper Aeroplanes request Tour to the Perth stage. Not content with making music, Folds will also encourage the audience to make origami as part of the show.
Known for hits such as Brick, Rockin' the Suburbs and One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces, Folds is well-known across WA and Australia as a truly engaging performer.
Festival contemporary music programmer, Clara Iaccarino, said, 'Ben Folds is one of very few artists who has remained relevant and well-loved for eons, this guy bosses the piano with ivory-tinkling grandeur.'
'Ben is just the tip of the iceberg of a banging programme of contemporary music that will have you moving in all the right ways. We look forward to revealing more soon.'
