If you’ve ever been curious to see the daily life of a WAAPA student, but you’re also keen on a Sunday lie-in, WAAPA’s virtual open day this Sunday is practically calling your name. Just like the information booths at an in-person open day, WAAPA have set up a chat room, well-manned by a diverse array of staff members from each course to answer any and all queries. Plus, individuals have the option of a private video chat, one to one. The chatrooms will be open from 10am-3pm, so you’ll have plenty of time to explore any course that takes your fancy. As a special treat, over 20 exclusive interviews with the coordinators of each course will be released. From performing arts to sound and lighting, each coordinator will provide a testimonial, giving an overview of the ins and outs of what it’s like to be a student as well as the array of employment outcomes available to graduates of each program. With 24 areas to study, including the only dedicated Aboriginal Performance course in Australia, the course options are virtually endless. WAAPA have also set up a 360° virtual campus tour, so you can explore the campus ‘on foot’. Set up like Google Street View, you can head to every theatre, studio, auditorium and more across the WAAPA campus. For a quick look at what you can achieve at WAAPA, check out our blog showcasing the crazy coordination involved in merging 124 individual performances from WAAPA students into one steaming hot symphony here. waapa tim minchin If you’re still not convinced, notable WAAPA alumni include Hugh Jackman, Tim Minchin and Dacre Montgomery… who wouldn’t want to be a part of that crowd?
