Margaret River Fine Vines festival is an immersive celebration of the region’s world-class wine with 34 events throughout the Margaret River wine region from 20-29 October 2023. The festival encourages guests to deepen their understanding of and connection to WA’s top wine-producing region.

Now in its third year, the festival welcomes locals and visitors alike. The 2023 program welcomes a host of new and exciting events plus the return of Fine Vines fan-favourites. Here’s the four events you won’t want to miss.

Strings with Vin

Enjoy an elegant escapade at Skigh Wine where the contemporary sounds of Western Australia’s leading string quartet will fill their beautiful Yallingup gardens. The morning session will see Skigh Wine showcase their Blanc de Blanc, while guests to the afternoon session will be the first to experience the 2023 Skigh Strange Brew Nebbiolo. Savour the velvety flavours of Skigh’s wine alongside a gourmet selection of grazing boards as the string musicians weave a tapestry of sound.

Busselton Wine Hop

This progressive wine tasting through Busselton’s city centre is a multi-stop, self-guided wander where you’ll meet and greet with a swag of Margaret River region wineries at your own pace. Busselton’s best venues, Shelter Brewing Co, Rocky Ridge, Firestation, Art Geo Complex, plus newbies to town Banksia Tavern, will join us to host several small-scale producers, each on hand to share their wine and passion. Accumulate wine knowledge, taste and compare or just enjoy a low key day of vino and fresh air. Wineries announced soon!

Organically Paired

Head to Chow’s Table for a celebration of the finest organically grown and made produce from the South West. Four certified organic wine producers and their head winemakers; House of Cards Winery – Travis Wray, McHenry Hohnen – Jacopo Dalli Cani, Windance Estate – Tyke Wheatley, and Organic and Biodynamic winery Cullens – Andy Barrett-Lennard, partner with South West Chefs Ben Day, Brendan Pratt, Ben Jacob, and Mal Chow. Together they will cast a spotlight on the magic of organic winemaking and farming. Enjoy award-winning wine thoughtfully paired with a feast of dishes that champion organic ingredients.

Somm Trek

This is the insider’s insider tour: a five-hour, sommelier-hosted vineyard trek with one of WA’s most respected sommeliers and wine educators, Foni Pollitt. Criss cross the region visiting Windows Estate, Swings & Roundabouts, Marri Wood and Marq Wines with informed commentary from Foni about the wines you’re tasting and the region. Grazing platters await you at Windows Estate with lunch following at Swings & Roundabouts to top off your afternoon. This is your chance to uncover your next favourite drop, with the help of a Somm to decode the wine speak!

Picked for your Plate at Bettenays

Homegrown produce and remarkable wine unite for an afternoon in the Bettenay’s olive grove. Renowned for his expertise in homegrown produce, Steve Woods of ‘All The Dirt Podcast’, will guide you through the flourishing Bettenay’s garden beds, grown with his own seeds, divulging the secrets of successful Spring and Summer planting. Enjoy a glass of sparkling and canapés on arrival before sitting down for three delicious courses based around the seasonal vegetables and herbs currently growing in the Bettenay’s garden, paired with their wines.
