Boyup Brook Music Festival

Bring the family down for a relaxed celebration of country music on the banks of the Blackwood River. Just three hours south of Perth, Boyup Brook’s Music Park will host its 36th annual festival which includes live music, markets, truck musters and bush poetry performances. This year spotlights West-Australian artists to celebrate new and upcoming acts and limit risks of cancellations from international artists. Make sure to catch the alternative, Americana sounds of The Little Lord Street Band or the soulful storytelling of Kathy Carver amongst the talented line-up. Boyup Brook Music Festival has a variety of campgrounds that cater to swags, caravans and tents, with all nightly fees going towards Boyup local organisations.

The event runs from Feb 18 – 20. Adult tickets range from $32.15 – $187.43. Grab yours here.

Wave Rock Weekender

Wave Rock Weekender is a musical oasis amongst Hyden’s salt-crusted landscape. The roster usually consists of Indi-rock bands, vibrant Djs and local and international talent. Last year saw Perth faves Spacey Jane, Arno Faraji and Death by Denim alongside food trucks, yoga classes and cinema viewings. Bring your bathers to cool off in the 6m deep, man-made salt pond and explore the breathtaking rock formations nearby. Hyden’s Wave Rock Caravan park has limited reception, so switch off and dance to the pumping tunes. The weekender is strictly 18+, tents only and fully licensed.

Line-up and tickets are yet to be released. The event runs from Sep 23 – 26. Stay tuned for more info here.

Grapevine

Sandalford Estate will host Grapevine on April 9, pairing wine with Australia’s hottest acts. Headlining are high energy dance-floor duo Peking Duck, The Jungle Giants and national treasures, The Veronicas. Between acts, grab a glass of vino and catch the podcast legends, The Inspired Unemployed, changing-over sets. The festival is selling return bus tickets with multiple pick-up locations across the Perth metro. If you require a little more recovery before the bus trip home, Sandalford estate makes the perfect cabernet getaway. You can find multiple B&B’s located nearby but they do book out fast.

Final release tickets are currently on sale for $138.52 and can be purchased here.

Fairbridge Festival

As of Feb 9, 2022, the 2022 Fairbridge Festival has been cancelled.

Running April 22 – 24, Fairbridge Festival is a great way to make the most of the final weekend of the April school holidays. The folk, world and roots festival has a laid-back vibe with a hefty schedule of live music, workshops, dance programs and activities to keep the kids entertained. Public transport options are available from Mandurah to Pinjarra, however, they don’t travel directly to the festival, so camping on site is recommended. From glamping in cotton canvas bell tents to pitching a tent on the Field Oval, there are multiple accommodation bundles to select from. Rivergrounds camp is already sold out. 60 plus artists are yet to be released so stay tuned for more info.

Blues at Bridgetown

Blues at Bridgetown returns for its annual three-day blues street party. Venues across the township open their doors to host celebrated blues artists, providing a unique community festival experience. Tickets and line-up for 2022 are yet to be released, but last year’s festival saw the likes of Matt Taylor, Dave Hole and ThornBird. Bridgetown is a three-hour drive from Perth with Nannup and Manjimup as neighbours. “Tent City” camping is available just 10 minutes from the main action or attendees can opt for some more cosy local accommodation.

Blues at Bridgetown runs Nov 11 – 13. More info can be found here.
