Taste Great Southern
Mar 26 – Apr 5 Taste Great Southern is an enormous 11-day festival of over 30 culinary experiences celebrating WA’s Great Southern region. The annual festival of food and wine spans over multiple venues in the region, with events from luncheons and degustation to free and family events. Events are led by star chefs such as Julie Goodwin, Derek Lau and Anna Gare, and put a spotlight on the incredible local produce and wines of the region. Apr 4 Part of the Taste Great Southern program, this one-day-only event showcases over 100 unique wines, as well as award-winning produce, local food and craft beer. Head to Eyre Park to soak up some sun, enjoy good music from local artists, and maybe even treat yourself to the Lakehouse Denmark VIP lounge. Discover new loves and enjoy your favourites whilst overlooking the lake. Mar 28 – 29 Would you like some sips with that? Fish N Sips pairs the best of WA Seafood with delicious wines for a complementary culinary experience. Watch the work of the finest local chefs and don’t forget to bring the rest of the family! There will be mermaids in the morning and live music in the evening to soothe you into the Port Beach sunset. Tickets go on sale early March, so keep an eye out! Feb 29 – Mar 1 Apples and pork go together like pepperoni and pizza. Ring in the labour day long weekend at this fantastic celebration of pork and cider at Burswood park. The festival will be a home-away-from-home for cideries local and interstate, accompanied by the fantastic tastes of porky food trucks and restaurants. Feb 22 – 23 This is another one to travel for, and it’s certainly worth it when the Bunbury Beer & Cider Festival boasts 50+ beers and ciders, eats and beats! After two sold-out events, this one is back with a vengeance, offering the brand new Arcade Diner! The diner with feature gorgeous retro décor and arcade games. Tickets are free, and the festival is maintaining its commitment to sustainability by using reusable cups for beverages. They’ll be available for purchase for $5 - a nice souvenir to take part of the festival home with you. Mar 14 – 15 Mandurah Crabfest in a huge celebration of local culture, produce, and atmosphere. In honour of the native blue manna crab, this festival is the largest free regional community event in WA, a presentation of the unique lifestyle and culture of Mandurah.
