It’s good news for those missing Government House’s Music on the Terrace concert series! A series of concerts by Perth’s top musicians has been recorded live in the Government House Ballroom and will be available for your home enjoyment through a new world-class streaming platform developed in Melbourne.
Created by musicians for musicians, Melbourne Digital Concert Hall provides a virtual stage for artists to continue to perform during the current COVID-19 restrictions. Fiona Campbell, Artistic Director of Music on the Terrace, has curated a programme of intimate, live performances by Perth’s most respected musicians, including clarinettist Ashley Smith, tenor Paul O'Neill and jazz diva Ali Bodycoat.
Aptly named ‘Satellite Nights - Perth’, the series includes three bespoke concerts offering classical music, opera and jazz.
Launched in response to the COVID-19 crisis, Melbourne Digital Concert Hall supports musicians who would otherwise be out of work. Tickets are very reasonably priced, and all money made from ticket sales goes directly to the musicians. It is a great way to both show your support for local artists and enjoy the concert experience from the comfort of your home.
Satellite Nights is presented with the support of the Government House Foundation and Government House. Find out more about the Government House Foundation here and see the schedule for Perth's first three dazzling concerts below.
