“My sculptures have expression and often tell a story”The sculptures are a representation of Darrel’s enjoyment of life, with most based on nature and human spirit. The spectacular carvings hold so much detail that it is almost impossible to believe they were produced with a tool as large and cumbersome as a chainsaw. What started off as a hobby soon developed into a deeper obsession for the creative art form. Darrell has gone on to win numerous prizes from his sculptures, including the Plantagenet Art Prize, York Show, Albany Show, Denmark Fine Wood Competition and Porongurup Art in the Park show. The drive allows you to experience all of his creations in a natural bush setting. A donation of $5 on entry is appreciated and goes towards the costs of creating and maintaining the art drive. Darrel has shared with us a special preview of his latest masterpiece, a violin sinking into a jarrah log carved from a single piece of wood.
