Voges, who captained the Perth Scorchers to two of their three Big Bash Championships (BBL|04 and BBL|06), will take the reins as coach for season 2018-19. Voges had a distinguished international playing career, representing his country 58 times across all three formats, playing 20 Tests, amassing 1485 runs, at an impressive average of 62, with five centuries. Voges retired from First Class cricket following the 2016-17 season and finished his playing days with the Perth Scorchers at the conclusion of the 2017-18 season. Already with an eye to coaching, Voges undertook a mentor role for the WA Under 19 side at the National Championships in Tasmania and was Director of Cricket at Melville Cricket Club throughout 2017-18. With extensive leadership experience, Voges plans to build on the strong values and culture, that has proved to be successful over the past few years.
