If you're feeling the post-long weekend blues, then it's a good time to start planning another fun-filled weekend. Get the family together and check out some of these great events happening in Perth and down south. From outdoor movies to water slides, there's plenty here that will keep you and the kids entertained all weekend!
Love Is All Around ClaremontMar 9 - 11 (Fri - Sun), Claremont Park, entry from 6pm/films commence at 7.30pm, free event
The Town of Claremont is hosting a free love themed pop-up outdoor cinema all weekend. The films showing are Love Actually (Fri), Beauty and the Beast (Sat) and Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice (Sun). Guests are welcome to bring their own seats and picnics. Food is also available to purchase on-site.
The NutcrackerMar 9 & 10 (Fri & Sat), Regal Theatre, 7.30pm
Following sell-out performances of Swan Lake, Moscow Ballet La Classique returns to Australia to present Tchaikovsky’s spectacular masterpiece the Nutcracker. The Nutcracker takes us on a journey back in time to the frost-covered, gas lit world of Clara, her beloved nutcracker doll and the magician Drosselmeyer. Touring WA this month, starting in Perth this weekend.
Perth Wildcats v Adelaide 36ers Semi FinalMar 9 (Fri), Perth Arena, 6.30pm
The Perth Wildcats have qualified for their 32nd straight NBL Finals series. Be a part of the Red Army and stand Stronger As One in support of the team this Friday as they head closer to an historic three-peat! The atmosphere will be electric.
Sculpture by the SeaNow – Mar 19, Cottesloe Beach, free event
Bring the whole family for a day at the beach and admire the weird and wonderful sculptures on display. There are 73 artworks in total from 77 artists, 28 of whom are from WA. You won’t be able to miss the giant snorkeler!
Splashfest in SwanbourneMar 11 (Sun), Swanbourne Oval, 2pm – 5pm, free event
Time to cool off and get the family out and about this weekend. Swanbourne's water-filled family fun day features slides, rides, games, stalls and more. Parents will enjoy the respite of the “chillout marquee”, where you can sit back and watch the kids splash away all day.
Teddy Bear’s Picnic at Perth ZooMar 11 (Sun), Perth Zoo, 9am – 3pm
Perth Zoo's annual Teddy Bears' Picnic is on again to help raise awareness of threatened species like the Sun Bear. Standard adult admission fees apply, but kids can enter for just $2 and under fours are free! The family-friendly fun will include live stage shows from Ricky Possum, Kindy Dance and Rock N Toddle, a giant maze, fairies, roving entertainment, reptile handling plus heaps more.
Taste Great SouthernMar 8-25, Great Southern Region
Feel like getting out of Perth this weekend? It’s not too late! Book your accommodation and pack the kids in the car, because Taste Great Southern kicks off this weekend. There are so many family friendly food events going on. Don’t miss Justine Schofield at Albany Farmers Market on Saturday!
