Julie Podstolski
Julie Podstolski's 2016 exhibition Fascination: Maiko, Geiko, Kyoto investigates the mysterious, secretive and evocative world of maiko and geiko (geisha) who live in Kyoto. Her latest show features exquisite new drawings in coloured pencils, a medium Julie has explored since1994 when she transitioned from her formal
art training in painting.
Opening at Earlywork Art Gallery in South Fremantle on September 17, Julie Podstolski's solo exhibition offers collectors a rare opportunity to acquire work by this sought-after Fremantle artist. Julie will be presenting artist talks on Sunday September 18 and 25 at 1pm, discussing her coloured-pencil practice and unique insights into her experiences in Kyoto. The exhibition will run until Sunday October 2.
