We can see why the Moonlight Cabin by Jackson Clements Burrows won Best Residential Exterior at this year’s Intergrain Timber Vision Awards.
Using timber as their main building material, a tiny four-bed holiday home was created atop rugged Victorian cliffs. Measuring a mere 60sqm, the bungalow explores the conventional notions of what is actually necessary in our everyday lives. The home is fully protected by a spotted-gum rain screen, which shields the interior rooms and timber from the elements. Sue Barnsley Design's Jubilee Playground took out Best Public Space, while the Lagoon House by Taylor and Hinds Architects took out Best Residential Interior.
