There is plenty of good news for the wine industry in Western Australia following the release of the 2024 Australia’s Wine List of the Year Awards, with some major accolades going towards local venues. While Melbourne’s Gimlet at Cavendish House took out the number one spot, Perth beachside bistro Gibney made national waves by coming in third – an impressive ranking for a venue that opened less than six months ago.

Gibney also collected two of the night’s most coveted awards: Best Wine List Western Australia and Australia’s Best New Wine List. Judges praised Gibney for its carefully chosen list that shows an outstanding commitment to champagnes and international wines, balanced by standout local offerings. The venue is fast becoming the hottest new player in WA’s dining scene, adding a fresh and vibrant vibe to Perth’s waterfront.

West Australia also celebrated Mojo’s taking home the award for Best Beer List for it’s second year in a row, lauded for its expertly curated selection of beers that complement the venue’s hearty menu. Meanwhile, Shorehouse reclaimed its title as Australia’s Best Listing of West Australian Wines, an honor it first secured in 2020, reaffirming its dedication to showcasing the region’s finest wines.

For Perth and WA, this year’s results highlight the state’s growing prominence in the food and wine industry. Whether enjoying a perfectly paired meal at Gibney or savoring the finest WA wines at Shorehouse, it’s clear that WA’s wine scene is thriving.
