Put an individual twist on your next function at Freo’s largest craft brewery, The Monk.
Since opening in 2010, The Monk has been consistent in winning awards such as the Trophy for Best Ale Draught in the 2012 Royal Beer Show Awards.
As Fremantle's largest independent craft brewery, The Monk is a leading destination for craft beer, honest food and great events.
Combining craft beer that's brewed in-house with a venue that knows how to put on a killer function is a dream come true for many, but The Monk goes way beyond pizzas and pints.
The venue provides everything from intimate three-course dinners or business meetings, through to large lectures and cocktail receptions with canapes, platters or its famous Spanish paella on the terrace. The Monk even hosts weddings – a truly unique reception venue.
The restaurant can be divided into a private area, and there are two semi-private rooms for smaller, more intimate functions. The outdoor terrace zone is a breath of fresh air for functions, with a great street view.
The seasonally changing menu is globally inspired and uses fresh, local produce, taking inspiration from meals foraged off the land.
The Monk's menu also reuses and recycles a lot of its brewing by-products, such as yeast and spent grains, with beer appearing in its bread, sauces, and meats.
The architecturally designed space has a rustic, almost industrial style, with recycled timber railway sleepers from the Fremantle line injecting a little local heritage into the venue.
For a venue with that oozes character and originality, you can't go past The Monk.
