Boutique apartment developer Match has played an instrumental role in introducing Perth to the idea of design- and amenity-led urban living.
COMO
The hardest choice residents of the latest M/26 development will have to make is whether to relax in the comfort of their contemporary apartment, or indulge at one of the surrounding cafes and restaurants. That, or deciding between the white, neutral Hamptons scheme for their interior or a moody dark Manhattan style that evokes city cool.
Located on a quiet tree-lined street only 300 metres from the Swan River, the M/26 apartments will be a visually pleasing addition to the evolving suburb, with the building's elegant, contrasting facade working with light and dark materials for a stylish outcome.
Work on the building, designed by CCN Architect in collaboration with Match, and built by M/Construction (a part of the M/Group), will commence in 2016.
The 40 one- and two-bedroom apartments are tailored to be the perfect places to craft an elegant life, with large entertainment balconies and courtyards taking full advantage of the views, where possible. Design features include green-star rated fixtures and finishes, solar power to common areas, a sophisticated kitchen with Bosch kitchen appliances and island bench, lift access and air-conditioning.
LEEDERVILLE
The intriguing frontage of Match's spectacular new development takes inspiration from a surprising source. Referred to M/24, the building's screened facade was generated by computers modelling the patterns formed when bubbles intersect. The dynamic patterns, known as Voronoi tessellations, give the impression
of a form bubbling out of the site.
This was a creative pursuit ARM Architect had taken to pay homage to Golden West Aerated Water Company building that previously called the site home.
The eye-catching patterns, melded with greenery, were designed to symbolise the bubbles of Golden West sodas, and the results are impressive.
The 39 one- and two-bedroom apartments are also tailored to the eclectic nature of Leederville, with all its distinctive architectural details and unique materials.
Internally, silk gloss cupboards meet a bright wood-look feature pantry in an open kitchen adorned with European appliances and composite stone benchtops.
M/24 will also be located only 100m from Leederville's cafes and restaurants, but far enough away on a quiet cul-de-sac for a sense of seclusion.
MOUNT LAWLEY
Thirty apartments are spread over three levels in this striking new development, to be built on Mount Lawley's lively Walcott Street.
The one- and two-bedroom apartments, positioned on a corner site, present flexible living options for its target demographic of young professionals. To tailor its design to this group, CCN Architect in collaboration with Match set out to establish an edgy aesthetic in the building's fascia, with gallery interiors to provide a blank canvas for the personal palettes and styles of its occupants. Contrasting monochromatic finishes are a highlight of the dwellings, including contemporary black tapware, which complements the black or white cabinetry options beautifully.
The site is in close proximity to local cafes, restaurants, parks, shops and Edith Cowan University, however its occupants can also enjoy relaxing in the development's communal garden retreat.
