The aim of De Francesch Building Company is to ensure that any new client or architect becomes a business partner for life.

YOKINE

Designed by David Hartree and constructed by De Francesch Building Comapny, this home was actually created for the owners of the building company, a fact that allowed for a close working relationship between the architect and the builders/owners.

With the site at the highest point in the metropolitan area, the brief was to design an ultra-modern, multi-level home that exploited views over the Western Australian Golf Club, and beyond to the city skyline. A focus on indoor/outdoor living was important, as was the use of multiple different building materials.

Specific requirements of the brief included a large sunken garage to house up to six cars, plus a ground-floor living and entertaining area for four teenage children. Extensive terraces and balconies extend the outdoor spaces.

The first floor houses the kitchen, dining and living areas, where the parents can enjoy entertaining, with all levels serviced by a lift.

Key features of the home include frameless glass stackable doors, Donnybrook stone cladding, and Alucobond cladding which changes colour depending on how the sun hits it.

Internally, extensive use of Italian Travertine flooring throughout, an ultra-modern kitchen, and extensive use of LED strip lighting create continuous luxury in every room.

The owners are thrilled with their contemporary new home that exploits clean
lines to look as if it is 'floating'.
