An impressive 3-tonne cantilevered canopy defines this kiosk as a beauty in design and construction.
The Daily Bagel is an upmarket kiosk in the new City Square precinct at Brookfield Place in Perth's CBD.
With a stunning cantilevered feature timber canopy and contrasting contemporary clean lines in the casual dining and counter areas, The Daily Bagel carves a distinct visual signature in the arcade.
Designed by Urbani Leyton Design (now Cocoon Design and Construct), the kiosk features a range of natural materials. Recycled karri timber was used extensively for the canopy, while marble countertops and working surfaces provided a touch of luxury and sophistication.
Weighing approximately 3 tonnes, the cantilevered overhead canopy above the kiosk required difficult engineering, the slab beneath being only 100mm thick. Construction methods, weight distribution, and load balancing were carefully planned and executed to safely deliver the effect, defining the space.
Diverse Shopfitters was awarded ASOFIA's National Shopfitting Award for Best Kiosk Fitout for its work at The Daily Bagel.
