If you’re looking for an easy weekend getaway close to the city, Mandurah provides the perfect base for exploring the Peel region and the stunning towns of Dawesville, Pinjarra and Dwellingup. Mandurah also offers a surprising range of luxury accommodation including multi-million dollar canal-side mansions and stunning houseboats.

Allandale

With sweeping 180-degree views of the Harvey Estuary, this heritage-listed homestead is over 100 years old and combines country charm with elegance. Set on acres of land with easy access to the water, the whole family can enjoy fishing, boating and tennis or head to the nearby beaches and award-winning golf course, The Cut.

The house has four bedrooms and can comfortably sleep eight people, making it a great option for multi-family hire. There is a nearby boat ramp so you can easily launch your boat and anchor it in front of the house.

For a titbit of history, this homestead was actually built by Louis Dawe in 1913, whom Dawesville is now named after.

The house is only a few hundred meters from the Avalon foreshore and boat ramp, and only a 15-minute drive up to Mandurah, so you’re in a prime spot to bring down your boat or enjoy the cafe strip of Mandurah. If you’re wanting to just lounge around at home, you can enjoy the sauna, heated pool and lush tropical garden, which sounds like the perfect spot to enjoy a cocktail.

There are two villas, so this B&B would work for a couple’s trip or even for a group of friends. If you book a Friday & Saturday night out of peak season, you can get a third night free on either the Thursday or Sunday night.
