Mandurah is preparing for a new arrival to join Danish artist Thomas Dambo's popular Giants of Mandurah outdoor sculpture trail. Scheduled to arrive next month at Coodanup Foreshore, this brand-new Giant will replace the previous sculpture of Vivi Cirkelstone, which was damaged by arson in December 2022.
After the arrival of the new Giant has been installed, a free family event will be held at Coodanup Foreshore - dates to be announced soon.
Tourism Minister Roger Cook urges "all Western Australians to plan an overnight stay in Mandurah to take some time to explore the magic of the Giants and the natural beauty of the Peel region". You can check out our guide to the best places to stay in Mandurah and surrounds below.
Since the opening of the Giants of Mandurah, the Mandurah Visitor Centre has welcomed more than 86,000 visitors through its doors, ready to discover the Giants of the region.
The Giants of Mandurah project is supported by the McGowan Government through Tourism WA's Regional Events Program, as well as the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, Lotterywest, the City of Subiaco, and the Alcoa Foundation. The exhibition was produced by FORM: Building a State of Creativity Inc. and delivered in collaboration with the City of Mandurah, and will remain on display in the Peel region until at least 12 November 2023.
