It will showcase 16 original light-themed installations from local and West Australian artists over three spectacular nights; Friday 5th April to Sunday 7th April from 5pm – 9pm. The free event, now in its fifth year, will feature an interactive outdoor gallery, delicious food stalls and an array of roving entertainers who will perform a special act at 8pm each night. Crystallines by Sean Adamas

One of this year’s featured artists is emerging contemporary artist Sean Adamas, who will present ‘Crystallines’; a work of three monolithic structures with ever-changing colours. Movement sensors in the piece will detect approaching visitors and create brand new light patterns as guests interact with the sculpture. “It’s rare that your work will quite literally be seen in different lights,” says Sean, “and that brings with it the opportunity to create something changeable, both in itself and because of its surroundings.” [gallery link="none" columns="2" size="full" ids="https://media.localista.com.au/2019/03/Silver-Birds-3-low-res.jpg|,https://media.localista.com.au/2019/03/Cloud-1.jpg|"] This year, a special installation has been created by Claremont’s Freshwater Bay Primary School. All other artworks within the festival are created especially for ARTTRA – where they will be seen by the public for the very first time. In the words of Claremont Mayor, Jock Barker, “ARTTRA truly is a spectacular festival of art and light, so it’s no wonder people flock to Claremont from across Perth and beyond to see some of the extraordinary artistic talent we have here in WA.” See more about the ARTTRA Light Festival here.
