Two internationally acclaimed choreographers, Hofesh Shechter and Pansun Kim, are set to stage a double bill, Enter Coda, brought to life by LINK Dance Company, WAAPA’s elite graduate ensemble.
London-based choreographer and composer Hofesh Shechter, known for creating physically charged dance works underscored by immersive soundscapes, will have an excerpt from his iconic work Grand Finale re-staged by long-time collaboration Zee Zunnur. The music for this version has been created by Shechter, and the performance will mark the debut of this material from Grand Finale in Australia.
“The last time we toured the full length of Grand Finale was in Sydney back in 2020, so it is very exciting to bring a version of this seminal work back to Australia,” Zee Zunnur said. “The students have responded to this work with such openness, curiosity, maturity and bravery to dig deep into Hofesh’s world that demands such emotional and physical depths.”
Described as ‘part rave, part dance, part theatre’, Grand Finale (extract) is ambitious, garnering international acclaim, receiving Olivier Award and Bessie Award nominations, and winning a Dora Award for Outstanding Touring Performance.

A new creation by South Korean choreographer Pansun Kim will complement Grand Finale, entitled LANDCORPS. The piece evokes the tension and co-existence that emerge between relationships and environments, reflecting the ways in which accumulation and relation unfold across the field of life.
Both works are set to be performed by LINK Dance Company, WAAPA’s graduate dance ensemble, renowned for boundary-pushing performances.
LINK Dance Company performs Enter Coda at the Liberty Theatre from Thursday, May 28, to Saturday, May 30. Tickets are on sale now.
