As we hit the tail end of summer, Perth’s events calendar doesn’t look like slowing down. We’ve got 842 events on our guide for the month, and given it’s the shortest month we have, we’re clearly in for a treat in 2026.

Festivals pack this month with everything from art exhibitions to outdoor movies, to burlesque shows and international stars across music, comedy and more. Free community events also star, and international sports competitions keep Perth a destination city.

Head to our events guide to explore the full list, but if you’re looking for highlights, you’ve come to the right place.

Fringe Festival

January 21 – February 15

We’ve been enjoying Fringe throughout January, and luckily we’ve got another two weeks to go!

481 shows perform across the month of February, from Joondalup to Rockingham and right in the heart of the city at venues like The Pleasure Garden. 98 shows are playing at multiple venues, making Fringe even more local and accessible.

East Perth Power Station

Perth Festival

February 6 – March 1

Perth Festival kicks off this Friday, bringing over 100 events to the city in the 72nd instalment of Australia’s longest running arts festival.

The East Perth Power Station festival hub opens its doors for the festival right from the outset, including the free stage Casa Musica, where you can listen to live music, picnic, dance and people watch surrounded by community and the gorgeous riverside views.

Acts hailing from just about every corner of the globe are set to perform as part of the festival, but major WA arts organisations are teaming up with Perth Festival and showcasing our homegrown talent – WA Opera will showcase two events, WASO presents Mayhem and Rapture, and WA Ballet opens Ballet at the Quarry.

Art exhibitions open with the festival, alongside theatre, cabaret, and 27 free events , making February a month truly rich in arts and culture for Perth.

HSBC SVNS – World Rugby Sevens

February 7 & 8

HSBC SVNS is back for a third year, bringing the fast-paced and entertaining rugby format to HBF Park. The top eight teams in the men’s and women’s sevens work through a two day festival, the top two teams progressing to semi-finals.

Live music is locked in for the weekend, with The Sunshine and Disco Faith Choir and Furnace and the Fundamentals performing on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Food markets and multiple stages mean these two days will be more than just sport, but an all around good time.

Accordion

February 7 – 22

Globally acclaimed studio Amigo & Amigo are behind a new light installation debuting at Elizabeth Quay this Saturday, setting the precinct aglow for the next two weeks.

Launching the installation will be event Kaleidoscope, featuring roaming entertainment, Disco On The Bridge (LED lights, silent disco and a glowing dance floor on the Elizabeth Quay footbridge) and live performance from Limelight award winner Boox Kid and Australian Idol finalist Gisella.

Just as magical during the day or night, Accordion is set to make Elizabeth Quay extra special for the end of summer – and there’s a few other free community events taking over the precinct in February to explore.

Laneway Festival

February 15

This year’s Laneway Festival line up is one for the books, and certainly not one to miss. 3 stages, 18 acts, and artists that are finally making trips down under after extended hiatuses and begging from their fans!

Highlights include WA’s own indie singer-songwriter Ullah, winning Triple J Unearthed’s competition to play at the festival, and international stars Pinkpanthress, Role Model and Chappell Roan. There are still tickets available for Perth’s show, which we recommend grabbing before they’re gone!
