Coming all the way from the British Museum, an exciting new exhibition that showcases the culture of the Ancient Greeks will be opening at WA Museum Boola Bardip.
Ancient Greeks: Athletes, Warriors and Heroes is the first international exhibition to be displayed at the new WA Museum Boola Bardip, running from June 20 to November 7 in 2021. Telling gripping stories of the spirit of competition and victory that characterised the powerful society of the Ancient Grecians, the exhibition will paint a picture of the sport, arts, warfare and politics of the era.
Ancient Greeks will feature 178 incredible artefacts coming from present-day Greece, Turkey, Italy, Spain, Egypt and Libya, including some of the finest examples of Greek armour, sculpture, jewellery and coins that have ever been found.
Some of the objects in the collection, which range in age from the 6th to the 1st Centuries BCE, have never been seen in the Southern Hemisphere.
