Check out 40+ artists, specially designed play-spaces and a fantastic array of hands-on workshops at Animaze’s month of non-stop family fun. As the first art exhibition designed specifically for kids at Fremantle Arts Centre; there’s certainly no shortage of entertainment for the young ones as a world of prints, paintings, sculptures, crochet, robotics and critters await!

Opening weekend activities

Crochet Tentacles with the Golden Wattle Hookers

Open to kids and adults, learn simple crocheting or finger-knitting techniques to create brightly coloured artworks that correspond with the Golden Wattle Hookers’ artwork within the exhibition. Saturday 17th November, 10am – 12pm, Free

Ross Potter Meets Tricia the Elephant – Gallery Drawing

Join artist Ross Potter throughout the exhibition as he works on a life-size drawing of the beloved Tricia the Elephant from the Perth Zoo. These informal sessions invite visitors to ask Ross any questions – just pop in! Every Saturday and Sunday throughout the exhibition, 10am – 12pm, Free

Sculpting Wire Animals with Sue Ryan

Work with Sue Ryan to create a sculpture animal of your own using wire, string, twine and other parts of collected material. Creativity is key when sculpting whatever animal your heart desires – be it a cat, a dog or perhaps a tiger! Saturday 17th November, 1 – 3pm, $30

Mini Animal Sculptures with Susan Flavell

Choose your spirit animal from Susan Flavell’s fantastic sculpture in the exhibition as you have the chance to create your very own mini spirit animal sculpture out of cardboard, glue, tape and string, in this fun class for adults and kids alike! Sunday 18th November, 1 – 3pm, $30

Stroller tours

Tour the exhibition with your bub – all Mums receive a free coffee! Running every Tuesday throughout the exhibition from 10:30am onwards.

Story time

Join the FAC team in the main gallery for a range of exciting animal-themed stories. Presented by Fremantle Library, this event runs every Friday from 9:30am onwards.
