Artist | Nancy grew up in the country surrounding the Canning Stock Route. In the 1960s, she and her family rejoined their relatives, moving to Jigalong in the Pilbara. Nancy paints with Spinifex Hill Artists and Martumili Artists.

Artwork | "I been walking around, little girl, pujiman (bush living) time, long way. Ngarlu (loved one), grandpop. This one, I'll call him name: water. Waldokaninya this one name, bush name. I been drinking water."

DOREEN CHAPMAN

Artist | Born in Jigalong in 1971, Doreen is a Manyjilyjarra artist and has spent the majority of her adult life in Warralong, 160km southeast of Port Hedland. She first exhibited with Martumili Artists in 2010 and began painting at the Spinifex Hill Studios in recent years. As a deaf and mute woman, painting is a crucial medium of communication and storytelling for Doreen.
