The very best and sometimes the very worst personal and business decisions and deals are made over dinner and drinks, but at least they are made. So, switch up your scenery for an after-work hang out in Perth that offers good quality food, plenty of booze and room for the whole office to unwind.

The Stables Bar

Housed in one of Perth’s original horse stables, their cosy basement venue is the perfect spot for your next catch up. Book ahead with a group of 12-16 people and you will have the Dining Room and Balcony to yourself, with plenty of room to get comfortable. Alternatively, head down to their Main Bar or Courtyard Mondays through Saturdays from 11am to late to enjoy an afterwork beverage.

Varnish on King

Arguably Perth’s leading whiskey bar, it is always a good time to be a bacon lover at Varnish on King. Open on Fridays and Saturdays for lunch and dinner, their set menu includes maple bourbon chicken wings, Harvey beef and a buttermilk custard tart, with a complimentary glass of prosecco or schooner of beer with every booking. They are also offering their Mini-Bacon flight masterclass on arrival. You must book online and pre-pay at least 24 hours ahead, which gives you plenty of time to pick out a nice stretchy pair of pants to wear. If you’re not loosening your belt a few notches by the time dessert comes out, you’re doing something wrong.

The Globe

A refuge on Globe Lane at the ever-busy intersection between Wellington and William Street, The Globe is located in the original 1880s Globe Hotel. One of Perth's oldest pubs with the original stained glass windows still intact, you know that a lot of great deals have been made here over the years. Take a seat in the alfresco beer garden, or cosy up in their lounge.

Open from Monday - Saturday from 12pm - 8pm, and on Sundays 12pm - 6pm. Bookings are available for 2 hour sittings via: http://bit.ly/GlobeBookings

The Flour Factory

You can once again have a spin of The Flour Factory's Gin Wheel with your colleagues when their new opening hours come into effect. From Wednesday June 10 onwards, they'll be open from 4pm - 9pm Wednesdays and Thursdays for drinks, bar snacks and dinner, and from noon until late on Fridays. Don't miss out on their Gin & Tonica trees, which come with nine different gin and paired tonics - enough for the whole office! You can also opt for their dinner set menu, which, at $67 a head, gets you their famous charcuterie board to share, plus an assortment of delicious dishes such as snapper tetaki with wasabi mayo. Goody Twos

As the temperature drops, drop into Goody Two’s for drinks and nibbles with a Japanese twist that is sure to warm you up. You can step into this Irwin Street basement venue on Fridays and Saturdays to enjoy their wide range of Japanese whiskies or exciting cocktails with bao buns, dumplings, or Goody’s Fried Chicken. Book now so you don’t miss out.

The Aviary

Above the Perth Underground Train Station, The Aviary will be back open from Wednesdays through to Thursdays from noon until 9pm, and until 11pm on Fridays, plus weekends. Bookings are available for 2 hour sittings, if you want to be safe rather than sorry. Book here: http://bit.ly/AviaryBookings

Alfred’s Pizzeria

Even if you’ve been making the most of their delivery service, Alfred’s Pizzeria has reopened to remind you that everything (even pizza) tastes better in a cosy small bar. Wash it down with one of their delicious cocktails or choose from their range of beers. Whatever your preference for pizza, you can book a table at Alfred’s any day of the week by calling. Bookings are not required, but they are still currently operating with delivery and takeaway so you can guarantee yourself a post-work pizza party.

Helvetica

Tucked away down Howard Lane off St Georges Terrace, Helvetica is the place to go if you want to take your time with a whiskey under moody lighting. One of Perth's older small bars (est. 2009), it strikes the perfect balance between cosy and trendy. Their opening hours are Tuesday to Friday 3pm - late and Saturday 4pm - late, so head on down and reward yourself with a delicious old fashioned after a hard day's work.
