Following nearly two years of extensive refurbishment, building works at His Majesty's Theatre are finally complete.
The street level café has re-opened as 'Crew and King', a name that references both its past and its relationship to the Theatre.
Catering for everything from light snacks to grazing platters to heartier mains, the new cafe sources produce from Manjimup to Carnarvon, featuring venison from Margaret River, beef, lamb and pork from Albany and artisanal bread from a local Perth bakery.
It is now open for lunch Mondays through Fridays from 11am - 2pm, serving coffee to go from 7.30am - 11am.
As part of the refurbishment, the space formerly dedicated to the Museum of Performing Arts (MOPA) has been transformed into an intimate and cosy bar and foyer space, which will continue to showcase some of the beautiful items from the Museum of Photographic Arts (MOPA) collection.
His Majesty's Theatre was built in 1904 and is the only remaining working Edwardian theatre in the Southern Hemisphere, recognised as a 'State Heritage Icon'. It is also the home and principal performance space of the West Australian Ballet and the West Australian Opera.
