Perth's best buns are out for Red Cross Bushfire Appeal

Get ready to loosen your belts and flash for cash for a good cause - Perth’s oldest Cinnamon Bun bakery, Spirals Cinnamon, are hosting a fundraiser in support of the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal. There is no denial that this summer has been environmentally catastrophic as fires have ravaged our country and destroyed homes and habitats. On Sunday 2nd February, the people of Perth are encouraged to do their bit for fire relief and sample some of the best cinnabuns in Perth – not a hard ask! The renowned cinnabun bakery will be pumping out loads of delicious buns at their shop in Mt Hawthorn to raise much needed funds for the Red Cross Appeal. Spirals Cinnamon expect to sell over 500 buns, with their most popular flavours on offer including fan favourites the American Dream and the Salted Butterscotch Pecan. Jackie Madeley, co–organiser and Spirals Cinnamon owner, said that the fundraiser is possible thanks to the generous support of the bakery’s suppliers and long–term customers: “Our local producers and suppliers got on board and said they would be more than happy to provide everything – from flour, eggs, and baking ingredients through to coffee.” All the funds, apart from minor operational fees, will go straight towards the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal, who are currently operating in affected bushfire communities in NSW, South Australia and WA. The Red Cross have been working hard to provide evacuation support and relief centres, psychological first aid, food, water and relief items, as well as delivering emergency grants to those who have lost their homes.
