A unique blend of materials finds peace together in the brand-new Baldivis community centre.
After impressing locals with the completion of the Baldivis Secondary College, PACT Construction has made its mark in the region yet again with the construction of Baldivis's new library and community centre.
Incorporating a contemporary library, e-training areas, meeting rooms, offices, an on-ground plaza area, and creche facilities, this cleverly constructed building has become the heart of the suburb.
The client, City of Rockingham, handpicked PACT Construction from a group of eight respected builders who submitted their interest in the tender.
As with any of its jobs, the PACT Construction team took great pride in carrying out each task to the highest level, and working in with the council's time frame and budget.
Special features that make it unique include the curved roof and intricate facade.
From the hexagonal ceramic tiles to the stone, timber-and-aluminium composite
cladding, and rendered brick, there is very little material repetition.
The delivery of services was also complex, including the introduction of a suspended floor system hosting reticulated data cabling and distributing air-conditioned air.
Modern in design, with a timeless quality, the Baldivis Library & Community Centre will enhance the streetscape for years to come.
