Cave Tours

The Margaret River region is as spectacular underneath the ground as it is on top. Over 150 highly decorated limestone caves lay beneath the surface of the Leeuwin Naturaliste Ridge. Formed approximately 1 million years ago, a number of these complex and fragile karst systems are open to the public. Go inside and be amazed by these massive labyrinths decorated intricately with limestone crystal formations. Cave tours range from completely easy ‘at your own pace’ self-guided tours, guided tours along boardwalks with great commentary, ‘off piste’ adventure hard-hat tours to extremely adventurous ‘abseil your way in’ expeditions. You can marvel at the reflections on Lake Cave’s permanent lake, be dwarfed in Jewel Cave’s enormous chambers and take it easy on the Mammoth Cave self- guided tour. At Yallingup’s Ngilgi Cave (pronounced ‘nilgi‘), you will learn the Aboriginal legend as you look up at limestone shawl formations– or delve deeper into the cave on an adventure tour.

Canoe into the sunset tour

A sunset canoe tour along Margaret River (the actual river) is not your typical, everyday tourist trip. Access to a secret launch location and secluded beaches is limited to locals who know their stuff. A paddle down the river, with rests at secluded beaches, will expose you to a side of Margs that is often hidden and under-appreciated. Toast the sunset with a glass of wine and good company. Wine tours

Winery tours offer even more than this. Winery tours can take you places where you can’t go by yourself. Some tours specialise in getting you behind the scenes, perhaps to meet the wine maker, have a barrel room tasting or even blend your own bottle of wine. There’re full day and half day wine tours for thirsty minds as well as thirsty palates. With light hearted tours designed for fun to educational tours for beginners to experts there’s a winery tour to suit you.
