Koorliny Arts Centre will stage one of the world’s most beloved musicals this November, bringing all the glamour of Hollywood’s golden age to Kwinana.

Singin’ in the Rain will run from Friday, November 20, to Saturday, November 28, packed with romance, comedy and spectacular dance. Classic musical numbers include Good Morning, Make ‘Em Laugh, Moses Supposes, and the iconic Singin‘ in the Rain.

Based on the 1952 MGM film, the musical follows silent screen star Don Lockwood (Matt Ballantine) as Hollywood faces the arrival of the “talkies.” Don must navigate the changing industry where not every movie star is quite ready to be heard, alongside best friend Cosmo Brown (Rp van der Westhuizen), aspiring actress Kathy Selden (Emily Lambert), and the dramatic Lina Lamont (Melissa Tranchita).

The glitz, charm and charisma of 1920s Hollywood is on full display thanks to the creative team led by director Blake Jenkins, choreographer Allen Blachford, and musical director Kate McIntosh. Classic musical theatre storytelling, detailed dance numbers and fast-paced comedy all give this beloved favourite a new life on stage.

Singin’ in the Rain plays at Koorliny Arts Centre from Friday, November 20, to Saturday, November 28. Tickets are on sale now at koorliny.com.au
