This October, Perth is invited to discover one of Australia’s oldest wine regions through a two-week festival of flavour.
Entwined in the Swan Valley runs from Monday, October 5, to Sunday, October 18, with a program of events taking place across boutique wineries and award-winning restaurants, and hosted by local artisans, brewers, distillers, growers and creatives.
The 30+ event program will showcase the taste, viticulture and heritage of the region through opportunities to slow down and connect. Picture a long-table feast among the vines, behind-the-scenes tours, curated food and wine pairings, learning a new skill or simply enjoying a day out with family, all offering the perfect opportunity to explore spring in the storied region on our doorstep.
Opening the festival is the free event A Taste of Entwined, in which visitors can taste a variety of Swan Valley food and wine at the newly refurbished Oakover Grounds on Sunday, October 4.
Other highlights include experiences at the Swan Valley’s award-winning wineries, like the Rosé Luncheon at Sandalford Wines, where you’ll dine under the trellis on the Verdelho lawn with the 1840 Range Rosé in hand, and Paired & Shared Under The Vines at Pinelli Estate, where you’ll sip on a curated tasting of five wines with vineyard views and canapes to share.
Masterclasses span everything from wine to honey to chocolate and more – Talijancich Wines will host a fortified-blending class paired with a guided tasting flight, earning each visitor a take-home bottle, and The House of Honey will introduce attendees to the world of beekeeping. The Chocolate Liqueur Masterclass at Margaret River Chocolate Co. sees the secrets behind chocolate making, winemaking and flavour-pairing revealed while guests work their way through ten handcrafted tastings.
