For the perfect winter treat, get a taste of truffles in the heart of Fremantle at the city’s first Truffle Festival. Running from Friday July 31 to Sunday August 2, the Fremantle Markets will turn into a weekend hub for truffle lovers, celebrating locally sourced truffles from down south.
Partnered with a local producer from Manjimup, Stonebarn Truffles, market visitors can expect exceptional quality, taste and aroma from the earthy, seasonal ingredient, as they walk around sampling fresh truffles and truffle infused produce, as well as dishes created by the Markets’ own stallholders.
Special truffle dishes on offer from vendors include:
Gnocchi Gnocchi Boys
Nannas truffle bruschetta
Golden Gnocchi – Homemade gnocchi, creamy secret sauce, black truffle, gold leaf 24K
Fancy a drink paired with your truffles? The latest newcomers to Fremantle Markets, Otherside Beer Hall, recommend their Doppelbock beer, featuring a complex ester profile from the European yeast and strong alcohol content, designed to be drunk slowly on a cold night with rich winter comfort foods.
The markets will be open Friday to Sunday 9am-6pm, so there’s plenty of time to get your weekend truffle fix.
