Launching Friday, May 1, WA Girls Social Space (WAGSS) is set to make it easier for women to find community and connect with local businesses in Perth.

Founded by UK expat Olivia Preston, the brand new platform was created in response to the challenges of meeting people and rebuilding a social life after relocating to Perth, an experience she herself struggled with.

Preston discovered through firsthand experience that many women relocating to Perth had limited ways to meet like-minded people outside of work or social circles. “When I first moved to Perth, I really struggled to settle in. It isn’t as easy as you think to make new friends later in life,” said Preston.

WAGSS hosts its own events designed to create a relaxed, friendly and welcoming space for women, the first series of community events set to be announced on May 1. On top of this, the platform will offer a directory of female-founded business, spotlighting emerging brands and established names.

“WAGSS was created for women like me – to provide a one-stop space for discovering events and local businesses available to them.”

Watch out for the website launch to be the first one to know about their launch events.
