If the WFH movement has inspired you to do some redecorating, you’re not alone. But instead of rushing to the homeware giants, why not consider pleasing your inner interior designer by checking out some of Perth’s top homeware boutiques? Many of these are family-run businesses, and offer a range of locally-made homeware and quirky home décor. Plus, if you prefer to do your shopping from the comfort of your couch, you’ll be pleased to know that all of the following stores also offer home delivery.
Green Bunch: Victoria Park
Green Bunch offer a stunning range of plants and décor that will instantly boost your serotonin levels. Run by a mother-daughter duo who describe their store as an urban jungle, their eclectic stock caters to everyone, and ranges from colourful boho-inspired décor to minimalist items. From the outside, they seem like an unassuming homewares store, but walk on through the back and you will find a gorgeous café and outdoor area. They aim to source all of their products from local nurseries and artisans wherever possible.
Pop into the store to say hello to Nina the shop cat and grab a coffee. Alternatively, Green Bunch also delivers to your door, with same-day delivery available.
Arrival hall: Northbridge
If you are going for a minimalist look with neutral tones and simple prints, Arrival Hall has you covered. Every item in the store has been handpicked by the owners, a husband and wife team passionate about finding unique items. Inspired from the couple’s travels around the world, Arrival Hall stocks homewares that are hard to find in Perth. Their mission is to bring glimpses of their travels back to Perth, and share them with fellow design-lovers.
Arrival Hall delivers to your doorstep, with free shipping for certain items. Browse online here or head into their Northbridge showroom where design lovers and foodies alike can enjoy the café.
Remedy: Leederville and Fremantle
Want to decorate your home and look out for the planet at the same time? Remedy features eco-conscious products that are both beautiful and sustainable. A portion of the Remedy store is dedicated to Australian-made homewares and you can find everyday items that have a low impact on the planet. They have beautifully designed serving boards made with native bark, handmade throws featuring original artworks, and even candles made with Aussie beeswax.
You can see the full range here, and if you want to order online, they deliver to your door with a flat rate of $10. With stores in Fremantle and Leederville, they welcome you to join their ‘slow consumption movement’ and have a leisurely browse in-store.
Cavania: West Perth
Bring the beach into your home with coastal colours and rustic charm from Cavania. Inspired by Western Australia’s coastline, owner Karen Sanders wants her products to help people create a relaxing domain that helps you unwind after a stressful day of work. The store originally opened in Geraldton and then the concept migrated to Perth, bringing a bit of regional WA to the city. Her store embraces all things feminine and aims to create an atmosphere where women can come in and relax. Think light woods, pastel colours, and textured fabric. Selling a range of brands from around Australia and the world, they also stock a stationary label designed by Karen herself.
Conveniently, The Jaffle Shack, run by Karen’s partner, is located right next door so you can grab a coffee before heading into Cavania for a browse. If you want to shop online they also offer in-store pickup or delivery options.
