The Russell Hobbs British Film Festival is returning this year, presenting a line up of dramas, documentaries, romantic comedies and more, all starring some of cinema’s most recognisable names.
The 2026 iteration of the festival will screen at Palace Cinemas Raine Square, Luna Cinemas Leederville, Luna on SX and Windsor Cinema from Thursday, November 5, to Sunday, November 6.
One of the program’s most highly-anticipated features is Wicker – a hilarious and raunchy romantic comedy in which Oscar-winning actress Olivia Colman stars as an ostracised fisherwoman who commissions the local basketmaker to weave her a wicker-husband in Alexander Skarsgård.
Andrew Garfield leads a historical drama as a grieving labourer in The Uprising, igniting a 14th-century peasant’s revolt. Jamie Bell, Stephen Dillane and Katherine Waterston also star.
Feature documentary PARKY reveals the storied career of ‘the king of the chat show,’ Sir Michael Parkinson. His five-decade-long reign as Britain’s greatest interviewer saw him across the couch from Muhummad Ali, Billy Connolly, Kylie Minogue, Bob Hawke, Madonna, Sir David Attenborough, and more – plus, many who feature in the documentary.
Savage House is a darkly comedic period piece, following two 18th-century social climbers in Claire Foy and Richard E. Grant sacrificing everything to host an aspirational dinner party. While Savage House is a cautionary tale of greed and ambition, Mother’s Pride is a more moving and heartfelt comedy – Jonno Davies stars, returning to his small country town to rediscover his purpose by revitilising his family’s pub being threatened with closure.
Bill Nighy returns again to the British Film Festival after 2025’s & Sons (in cinemas now) with 500 Miles, set across iconic Irish landscapes from Dublin to the Dingle Peninsula. The complexities of family are explored when two young boys embark on a journey to reunite with their estranged grandfather.
