Today marks the 50th Earth Day! To celebrate, we’ve found the best environmentally friendly restaurants and cafes still open for takeaway, so both you and Mother Earth can enjoy. Check them out here:

Swan Valley Gourmet Farm Cafe

One for the Hills folk, Swan Valley Gourmet Farm Cafe specialise in paddock to plate eating, cutting out the environmental burden of transporting produce. Plus, all their scraps go back into the farm to feed the animals. They’re currently offering free delivery for purchases over $50 within a whopping 25km radius, with a $10 delivery fee for smaller orders. Check out their delivery and takeaway menu here: https://swanvalleygourmet.com.au/

The Raw Kitchen

Kings of sustainability, The Raw Kitchen have been in the business of keeping our planet healthy for nearly 10 years. And lucky for us, they’ve just introduced delivery within 7km of their Freo store. With a menu almost entirely plant-based and eco-friendly delivery packaging, there’s no downside. See their ordering site here https://www.therawkitchen.com.au/home-delivery

Young George

In the name of planet earth, the kitchen at East Freo’s Young George has gone plastic free! Plus, they have introduced an online takeaway and delivery system, with a pizza party on each Tuesday and Wednesday and a roast special every Sunday. Jack & Jill

Nestled away in the Kalamunda’s town is Jack & Jill, a cafe who did something little to do something big for the environment. Owner Jess North has been sworn off plastic milk bottles and now only uses glass bottles, saving thousands of plastic bottles ending up in landfill. Jack & Jill are open for takeaway for breakfast and lunch. See their Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/pg/Jackandjillkalamunda/

Little Shop of Plenty

Located in up and coming Maylands is The Little Shop of Plenty, a plant-based cafe big on sustainable packaging of their products. Going into their store, you will see their fridge stocked with fresh juices in glass bottles and chia pudding in compostable BioCups. It’s just takeaway at the moment, but they are currently in the midst of planning delivery, so keep your eyes peeled. See their menu here: http://www.littleshopofplenty.com/take-away-men

Our Ruby Girl

For the South of the River crew, we have Our Ruby Girl. Its certified zero waste kitchen is still serving up treats for us all, both takeaway and delivery.
