Tapas is more than just food – its a way of life. Originating in Spain, tapas are designed to be shared by many, encouraging socialisation and conversation as plates overload the table with delicious nibbles. There’s nothing better than sitting down with a plate of hot, delicious bites, and sharing them with the table. Sharing is caring, so here is our guide to the best places in Perth for some mouth-watering, tasty tapas.

The Standard

Northbridge

The Standard has definitely made a name for itself as one of the trendiest, alfresco-style eateries in Northbridge. A bar garden and kitchen, with divine cocktails, The Standard is a go-to place for drinks and nibbles with mates. Don’t go past their house-made sourdough, which comes with miso butter and aged black vinegar. The fried sweetcorn in Korean BBQ sauce is also a must, as well as their fried chicken in chilli vinegar powder.

Open 4pm until late Wednesday to Friday, with Saturdays 12pm until late, and Sunday 12pm to 10pm.

Vin’s Tapas

Fremantle

A hidden gem in Fremantle, Vin’s Tapas is a late-night must visit. Dishes are Asian inspired, but the wine-list is almost all Australian. Check out their bao, spring rolls, and regular shares, which will have you ordering plates upon plates. Days of the week often feature mouth-watering specials, such as their Sunday Recovery, which consists of a seasonal fest feeding 3-4 mouths (no judgement here for those hungrier than that!).

Open for dinner weeknights and from lunch on the weekends, Vin’s is open until 4am week-long.

Bivouac

Northbridge

Offering a range of Eastern-style share plates, Bivouac knows how to look after your taste buds. The menu is designed to be shared, mixed and altered to your heart’s (and stomach’s) content. Pick your favourites via the a la carte style menu, or choose the Feed Me banquet, and take the stress out of deciding by the allowing the chefs to serve up their hand-picked selections. Pair your meal with one of Bivoauc’s classic cocktails, or check out the extensive wine pairings.

Lunch is available Thursday to Sunday, 12pm to 3pm, and dinner Tuesday to Sunday 5pm to 10.30pm.

Pinchos

Leederville

From small bites to large plates, Pinchos serves up their tapas seven days a week. With both indoor and pavement-side dining, Pincho’s provides an authentic dining experience. Start with croquettes, and move on to smaller plates to share amongst the table – the patatas bravas are a fan favourite, and the bar is well-stocked with local and international wines. Finish your meal with delicious Spanish churros – simply a must-have with every tapas experience.

Walk-ins welcome, or book in here for tasty Spanish tapas. Open from 11am to late during the week, and 8:30am during the weekend.

Rustico

Rockingham

Rustico Tapas & Wine Bar received a Readers Choice award in the prestigious 2022 Good Food Guide. On the Rockingham foreshore, Rustico serves up Spanish style tapas designed to immerse you in the inviting culture. With a choice of menus, including a la carte, degustation and a ‘Feed Me’ banquet, there is something for everyone. Thy their delicious slow-cooked paella, fresh Australian oysters, sauteed mushrooms and crispy roast pork belly (which we definitely recommend), Rustico is designed to be shared and indulged in.

Open from Wednesday and Thursday 5pm to 10pm, Friday and Saturday 12pm – 12am, and Sunday 12pm – 10pm.
