Five new small bars & breweries recently opened in Perth

In defiance of COVID the Perth small bar scene continues to evolve and breweries continue to open up across the state. Here are five new bars ready for you to explore over summer.

Bailey Brewing Co

Shaped from a simple vision of making, sharing and drinking good beer, Bailey Brewing Co opened at the start of November in the Swan Valley’s back yard. A fantastic excuse to escape the craziness of the city, the massive 250-capacity venue offers home brewed beer, a great wine list, delicious bites, and a massive playground for the little ones. Neon Palms

Taking over the space left vacant by Panama Social, Neon Palms is a bar you couldn’t possibly miss, sitting on the corner of William and Francis Street in Northbridge.  Featuring bright colours and synthesizer-heavy soundtracks of Miami in the 80s, the bar offers a tropical cocktail list and a menu that showcases the flavours of Latin and South America.  You can even try their version of the Cubano sandwich, inspired by the iconic film Chef. Pep's Wine Bar

Located in the heart of Peppermint Grove, Pep’s is a cosy and comforting neighbourhood bar. The bar is the result of a 10-year dream of local couple Charlie and Natasha Galbally and opened in October. It has since been very popular with the locals who now call the place home. Johnny Mo's

To satisfy Perth’s insatiable appetite for Instagram-worthy bars, the rooftop at Lucky Chan's has been revamped and reopened in October as a themed bar, with themes changing every few months, promising the same quality service but a fresh experience. With the name honouring Quentin Tarantino, many of the cocktails are named after iconic characters from the filmmaker’s catalogue of cult movies, paired with bartenders wearing the signature ‘Black Suit and Kato’ mask. Skol Bar

Located on the corner of Calais Road and Ewen Street, this Scandinavian inspired eatery has certainly won over the hearts of Scarborough locals since its opening in October. Born from Ryan Croll and experienced hospitality pair Ben Noble and Mani Vogt, the meaning behind the Nordic name expresses the vision perfectly; to express friendly feelings towards companions before drinking.
