Through all the COVID-19 madness, it’s surprising that the Perth food and drink scene still never fails to deliver new bars and restaurants to explore. In the last 6 months, there have seen some highly anticipated openings. We’ve scoured the list and found the top 5 latest bar and restaurant openings to make the most of what’s left of summer.

Various foods

Servo, Leederville

Located within the heart of Leederville’s entertainment strip, Servo stands out in the newly created Electric Lane. The restaurant embraces the industrial nature of it’s tenancy, a prime spot being the courtyard bar that features a kebab window – perfect for the late-night revellers. Whether it’s lunch or dinner, their menu has a massive range of options that cater towards both a quick bite and a full overhaul. We recommend bringing a group that doesn’t mind sharing so you can get a taste of most of their bold dishes as it will be hard to choose just one. Open everyday, from 11:30am till late. Bookings can be made online.

Gage Roads Brewery

Gage Roads Brewery, Fremantle

Eighteen years after their initial launch, Gage Roads brewery has finally opened its first brewpub in Fremantle’s historic Victoria Quay. The 100-metre-long cargo shed, originally built in 1926, has been transformed into a relaxed space that seems to fit every occasion. The brewery’s deck overlooks the stretch of ocean that separates Rottnest and Fremantle which inspired the Gage Roads brand. The best part, all Gage Roads beer available is brewed on-site, by head brewer Simone Clements. If beer isn’t your thing, the 17-metre sandstone bar still has a number of spirits and wines to choose from. No need to book, walk-ins are welcome from 11:30am daily.

Various foods

Willi’s, Perth CBD

Towards the end of 2021, the beloved Royal welcomed Willi’s into their ground floor venue. The new corner bar situated between William and Wellington street in Perth’s CBD radiates a European charm with a modern edge. Decorated with a chic interior and marble tables, Willi’s is a great option for more intimate celebrations with its casual setting. The menu features a number of bar snacks and quick lunches, plus an extensive wine list with both international and Australian made favourites. Open Wednesday – Sun 11:30 am till late, bookings can be made online.

Brown Street Grill Food

Brown Street Grill, East Perth

East Perth brewery, Bright Tank, took things up a level in late 2021 with the addition of Brown Street Grill. The seasonal menu is a celebration of locally sourced WA ingredients and grill cooking. Their Mesiano wood-fired oven, a WA-first, and custom made charcoal grill inspires a delicious range of dishes from small plates to more substantial meals and pizzas. Brown Street Grill also offers set menus catered towards larger groups to take the pressure off the indecisive hosts. The kitchen is open Wednesday to Thursday 4 pm – 9 pm. Friday to Saturday 12 pm – 10 pm and Sunday 12 pm – 8 pm. Bookings can be made online.

Interior Restaurant

Indigo Oscar, Cottesloe

Perth’s beachside dining scene has a new addition this Summer with Cottesloe’s Indiana playing host to a colourful Latin American pop-up restaurant. Indigo Oscar has caused a buzz amongst the locals with their Latin American menu, vibrant atmosphere and panoramic ocean views. The dining space has been rejuvenated with vacation-like tropical décor that ties in perfectly with the stunning Cottesloe beach views. The menu is seafood-forward, light and perfect for sharing. The highlights of the menu celebrate the offerings of the Australian coast, featuring freshly shucked oysters, Rottnest Island swordfish and a Spencer Gulf Kingfish ceviche.
