As Perth’s vibrant food scene continues to grow, the choices are well and truly endless. When looking for a great Italian restaurant in the city, you can find anything from authentic meals to contemporary takes on century-old recipes.

With so much choice, finding the perfect place to satisfy your Italian craving can be an overwhelming prospect, so with that in mind here are our favourite spots, right here in Perth!


Garum
Perth

Located in the Hibernian Hall in Perth’s CBD, Garum is serving up traditional Roman Italian like no-one else. Their approach is ancient techniques with a modern twist, serving up award-winning recipes that are sure to satisfy. This Roman Osteria is a unique approach to Italian cuisine, quickly becoming a local favourite.

Taking their name from a Roman fish sauce, Garum is a collaboration between Guy Grossi and The Westin Perth. The warm atmosphere paired with a stunning menu and equally unique ancient Rome inspired wine list is the talk of the town.

Opening hours: Monday – Saturday 4.30pm to 10.30pm and Sundays 6.30am to 11.00am

Vin Populi
Fremantle

With its retro-themed vibe, Vin Populi is as popular as any Italian in Fremantle, and for good reason. A perfect place to enjoy tasty pasta’s, antipasti and great wine, this cosy little spot is doing Italian right. Located on Fremantle’s iconic West End, locals can expect hearty dishes and a warm atmosphere, with fantastic vino and a Martini to remember. Lazio-born head chef Leo Crezcensi and Tuscan bar manager Silvia Sciarri truly use their wealth of knowledge and experience to bring Italy to Perth.

Seating up to 180 guests, Vin Populi has been filling tables since they opened in early 2023. The restaurant and wine bar nails the Italian aesthetic and transports guests with its beautifully textured walls and terrazzo tiling. Italian lovers all over Perth are singing its praises and frankly, so are we!

Lulu La Delizia
Subiaco

The absolute gem that is Lulu La Delizia is a small eatery and wine bar specialising in the premium fresh pasta and the delights of Friuli and the Venetian spice route. Located on Rokeby Road in Subiaco, “Lulu’s” prides itself on a unique approach to Italian cuisine giving locals a different look at the crafting and delicacy of pasta. Concerned about sauces being overbearing and too heavily focussed on, the team at Lulu’s wants to bring the attention back to the pasta itself, and boy do they deliver.

The Lulu’s team named this cosy spot after their Nonna Luigia Valvasori, who imigrated to Australia from the north-east commune of Casarsa Della Delizia, Friuli. Bringing the traditional recipes, flavours and soul of an Italian community, Lulu La Delizia is a not-to-be-missed Italian delight, right on Perth’s doorstep.
