A long day at work calls for a glass of vino, and what better place to sip and enjoy than in one of Perth’s newest and hottest wine bars. Here’s four that have opened recently that are well worth a visit.

Lums

Subiaco

From the team that brought us Bark, Lums opened in August in the heart of Subiaco. Whether you crave your favourite Australian pet nat, or find yourself seeking the richer flavours of Europe, Lums has got you covered. The heritage of the 1920s building is showcased through the classic interior, offering a friendly, cosy vibe to try a selection of wines and food, including cheese and charcuterie boards, share-style tapas and light bites. Open 4pm ’till late Tuesday through Thursday, and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

Vinotto Bar

Swanbourne

After rising to success hours after opening, Vinotto Bar in Swanbourne is a cosy, European-infused 55-seater wine bar. With a menu offering small plates with a twist, like a kingfish carpaccio accompanied by sweet melon and a herring crostini; and drinks carefully curated by Caitlin Johnston (heavy on delicious French, Spanish and Italian wines). They even emphasise their offering of quality non-alcoholic offerings, making this bar designated-driver-friendly too. Vinotto is open from 12pm Wednesday to Sunday.

Testun

Mt Lawley

Testun don’t take too many things seriously – just good wine and good food. Playing tribute to a classic Italian wine bar, this Neo-Italo osteria is brimming with Italian wines, and some from closer to home in WA too. If the wine isn’t enough for you, wait until you try their food; a modernised European-inspired menu has small plate options to be shared, and larger plates like tagliatelle and cotoletta if you’re feeling peckish. Open from 4pm to late Wednesday to Saturday, and 12pm to late on Sundays.

Bar Amelie

Subiaco

Opened in March and in a beautiful Rokeby Road location, Bar Amelie invites guests to enjoy wines surrounded by velvet seats and atmospheric lighting. Revitalising the space that used to be Bistro Felix, Amelie brings a French flair to Subiaco and showcases wines from WA like Margaret River mainstay Vasse Felix, to bubbly French champagne. They also offer exclusive high tea, complete with a glass of bubbles. Open from 4pm to late on Wednesday and Thursday, and 12pm to late during the weekend.
