With spring well and truly sprung, pick-your-own farms across Perth are opening their gates to offer the public a taste of their locally grown strawberries.
Western Australia has a long growing season compared to other places, producing sweet fruit all the way through the back half of the year. The best time for strawberries this year is still ahead of us, just hitting their peak in October. With pick-your-own farms open for the year, make a plan for the whole family and pick a haul of berries – not only are they delicious, but buying this way can be more cost-effective than buying from the supermarket.
Keep in mind that these farms are locally-run operations, and as all farms do, depend on a number of factors to create the best strawberry-picking experience for their visitors – always check their Facebook pages out to see if there are any changes to opening hours or pick-your-own availability before heading out for the day.

Minh Tran’s Strawberry Farm
Wanneroo & Neerabup
Pick-your-own at Minh Tran’s means 100,000 strawberry plants to pick from over 120 rows. Pick your own is open for the season at their Neerabup farm, with large Grenada and Festival varieties in the field. At least 3 kg of berries can fit in the provided boxes, and it’s all you can eat in the picking area for just $20. Bring cash!
Visitors should keep up to date with their Facebook page to see what days will be available for pick-your-own, with the Wanneroo Farm expecting to open for pickers in late October.
H&N Strawberry Farm
Gnangara
H&N Strawberry Farms began their picking season at the beginning of the month, and will continue to open for picking every Sunday for the course of the strawberry season.
Head to the fields by 8am if you’re planning on attending soon, as the first few weeks of the season tend to sell out early. A 3kg box of pick-your-own is $20, while pre-picked boxes are available for purchase also.
While not available for picking, there are many other fresh fruits and veggies on offer, making H&N Strawberry Farm a one-stop shop for local spring produce.
Sue & Tim’s Fresh Farms
Wanneroo & Gnangara
Sue & Tim have just opened their pick-your-own season, opening their gates to keen strawberry fans on Saturdays, and selling bulk, freshly harvested cartons throughout the week. Rock up from 7:30am to hunt the fields for ripe fruit until they sell out, at only $20 a box.
Remember to bring cash and enclosed shoes to make the most of the day!
Russell Farm Strawberries
Munster & Anketell
Open every day through strawberry season, Russell Farm Strawberries are serving up fresh, delicious fruit of Old Variety, New Variety, Adelanto and Black Pearl varieties.
Pick-your-own is expected to open around late October at their Munster location, with the team at Russell Farm making sure that there’s enough ripe fruit in the field for everyone to enjoy their experience.
While we wait, strawberries are available to order in bulk, both by variety and in mixed packs, alongside a host of other locally grown fruits and veggies.
Hoang Le’s Strawberries
Wanneroo
While pick-your-own doesn’t open until November, the strawberries are available in boxes up to 3.5 kg and available to order for pickup for the full length of the season. Keep an eye on their Facebook page to check on the exact date pick-your-own becomes available.
My Strawberry Farm
Gnangara
My Strawberry Farm hasn’t opened pick your own yet, but there is an abundance of strawberries and other fresh fruit on offer at the farm.
Blueberries, durian, mangoes, oranges, custard apples and and longans make up the spread, with the bright red strawberries being the highlight. Check out their Facebook page for updates on the pick-your-own season.
