In winter, it can be hard to get out of the house – out of bed, even. Luckily, we’ve made it easy to get involved this winter, putting together our list of the top five events coming to Perth this month that make the adventure into the cold worth your while.
This month finds focus in comfort – whether that’s taste-testing the best of our state’s food and wine, meandering through one of our top cultural precinct’s best venues, or grabbing a few friends together for an old-fashioned movie night, July’s highlights will warm you from the inside out.

Revelation Film Festival
Wednesday, July 8 – Sunday, July 19
Screening more than 150 features, documentaries and short films, Revelation Perth International Film Festival is back for the year, taking over Luna Leederville for the two-week run while also screening select programs at The Backlot, SAE Perth, Tribe Perth Kings Park and the State Library of Western Australia.
Highlights of this year’s program include Kristen Stewart’s directorial debut The Chronology of Water, two new documentaries Sentient and Silenced, and the festival opener, Gus Van Sant-directed drama Dead Man’s Wire.
With so many films on offer and screening exclusively at the festival, you’ll want to plan your itinerary so you don’t miss out on the opportunity to head indoors with popcorn and a friend and watch a film you won’t otherwise see on the big screen. Explore the full program on our dedicated landing page, or read our articles about both the festival highlights and top ten picks from the festival’s Program Director.

Lightscape
Friday, June 5 – Sunday, July 26
Lightscape is back! Kings Park and Botanic Gardens transforms in this annual after-dark experience, where large-scale installations by leading international artists lead visitors through the grounds. You’ll want to pack a scarf for this one, but you can warm up along the trail with hot chocoloate, mulled wine and other delicious bites.
There’s about a month left to go before the installation packs up for 2026, so make the most of the sessions left and head out for colour, music, and the best photo-op under the stars.

Nom Nom Festival
Thursday, July 2 – Sunday, August 9
Once again, Leederville’s best venues, chefs, winemakers and entertainers transform the suburb into a six-week celebration of food, wine, music and winter experiences.
The Leederville Precinct, comprising venues like Servo, The Garden and The Leederville Hotel, presents a program of long lunches, interactive workshops, cocktail trails, boozy brunches and more as an answer to the ever-present urge to hibernate in the winter months.
Highlights include Oyster Shucking with Jerry Fraser, Croatian Nights at Servo, and the new Dine & Dash experience, where you’ll progress through some of Leederville’s top venues for a three-course culinary adventure.
And there’s not just food – you can warm up with live jazz and comedy.

Fremantle Truffle Festival
Friday, July 10 – Sunday, July 12
While truffle events take over Perth in winter, Fremantle is hosting its biggest year yet of the Fremantle Truffle Festival to make a bid for Perth’s truffle capital.
Think infused menus, chef experiences, market activations and gourmet events showcasing WA’s most sought-after food, and the highlight of the weekend, the Truffle Dog Hunt Demo at The Old Courthouse, where you’ll see dog detectives sniff out WA black truffles firsthand.

Good Food and Wine Show
Friday, July 17 – Sunday, July 19
Australia’s most delicious day out makes its way to Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre for a whole weekend of food and wine experiences.
With 25 years of legacy behind it, the show has become a national celebration of flavour, craft and creativity, featuring iconic chefs, exciting producers and of course, foodies.
